Hong Kong Airport

POWERED AIRPORT SEATING

Zoeftig, an established company in Asia with a regional office in Singapore, has strengthened its position in the Far East market by completing Hong Kong International Airport’s new HK$10 billion Midfield Concourse. The company has installed 6000 of its inFINITE seats and 1000 power positions, where in-seat power was a key driver behind the seating solution’s design and configuration.

about this project

OE worked to support Zoeftig to create two bespoke power units that fitted in line with Zoeftig’s requirements. Special individual USB charging modules were developed with each of the twin USB sockets capable of delivering 2.4 amps of power simultaneously. That’s double the power of traditional twin USB charging points, giving passenger’s devices a boost rather than just a ‘trickle charge’. Zoeftig had identified the need to have replaceable sockets so better still, the USB sockets were designed to be replaced without the need to change the USB module, reducing the cost of replacing damaged USB sockets, a feature that is unique to the Zoeftig custom designed power solutions. All modules were produced and colour matched to the new seats and feature Zoeftig’s full closed system cable management to ensure maximum passenger safety.
