Bisley—Hideaway Swing Desk

desk with power unit

Home working can provide freedom and flexibility, yet there are challenges to consider – most notably feeling like the office is encroaching on home life. Bisley’s Hideaway swing desk boasts a spacious desk and charging point for home-working and neatly closes away to be used as a sideboard with no clutter on show.

about this project

Chris Fowler, Director of International Projects at Bisley, like so many of us, worked from home throughout the pandemic. Through his own first-hand experience, he has reimagined the at-home workspace and therefore, the creation of the Hideaway Swing Desk.

In Chris’ design, form and function work in tandem to create flexible spaces within the home. Hideaway Swing Desk showcases all the features we have come to expect from a workspace, including a large worksurface, AC power, and USB charging point, cable management, as well as ample storage for a printer or personal effects which may be needed throughout the working day.

Bisley partnered with OE as their POP unit was a perfect match for this project. POP has a condensed footprint, and its functionality complements the design of the desk – all while including additional usability. The Hideaway Swing Desk’s premium finish harmonises with POP and the power unit’s flush finish and flawless cable management convey high quality.

POP may be compact, but it packs a punch. The 42mm unit can be specified with AC power or TUF USB charging and having the flexibility to supply the product globally by changing the socket type was brilliant for Bisley.

“The bonus to this product is that you can choose from a range of socket types which are widely used around the world so a regional power socket, combined with a USB A + C module, gives the user several options for charging.”
